Buyer placed at the centre of the equation for new MotoGP™ Store by global eCommerce platform Kooomo.
The MotoGP Championship is working with ecommerce platform Kooomo to launch its renewed Official MotoGP Store online.
Kooomo provides a full-service solution that aims to increase brand awareness, grow online sales and provide greater brand exposure to affiliated apparel brands, such as Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo.
The official MotoGP™ Store is where customers can purchase all their favourite MotoGP™ products, receiving them directly to their home. As part of an ongoing digital trading strategy, it was recognised that MotoGP™ needed to upgrade its online offering in order to provide the best customer experience, that accurately reflects the brand.
Through the launch of the online store, it is expected that online revenue growth will grow 100% in just one year, with a 100% increase in recurrent customers and a 40% rise in affiliated apparel brands.
The new online store, which has been created with real fans of motorcycles and adrenaline in mind has been designed ‘mobile-first’ to accommodate the increasing number of mobile shoppers.
Zerogrey, Kooomo’s sister company, which designed and built the eCommerce store wanted to ensure that it placed the customer at the centre of the equation, so its main focus was to create the ultimate user experience. The online store represents the MotoGP™ community who dream of feeling the wind at 300 km/h and who want to be like one of their favourite MotoGP™ riders. As an all-encompassing, powerful, affordable and agile digital commerce platform, with relevant experience in the retail sector, Kooomo was able to deliver on this vision.
The new online store offers an enhanced intuitive experience by making it easier for customers to find the right products. Additionally, MotoGP™ offers the eCommerce site in Spanish, English, French and Italian, with hopes to add further languages in the coming months, to improve the experience of users in key countries that have demonstrated market growth over the past two years.
The site is now also better aligned with all GP events, through the implementation of a countdown clock to the next event. This is designed to generate excitement, as well as boost sales in line with events.
Ciaran Bollard, CEO of Kooomo comments, “We’re delighted to have worked with such a prestigious brand to deliver an exciting new platform for the MotoGP™ customers. 2020 has been full of surprises; starting with the outbreak of COVID-19, followed by the cancellation of the first races of the year, races taking place in fewer countries than previously and Marc Marquez getting injured. These happenings have made MotoGP™ a jungle of surprises, but, with that said, fans now have an even greater sense of belonging to their passion: motorcycle racing at high speed. The new website and its improved features have allowed this universe of motorcycling to continue to grow, even in times of uncertainty.”
