The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on UK mental health as Samaritans reported that more than a fifth of calls to its helpline had references to coronavirus in the past year and Samaritans volunteers indicate that the pandemic has affected all callers in some way.


Three UK is working with Samaritans to tackle these challenges, leveraging its technology, retail store and expertise to help more people access emotional support, 24/7, 365 days a year.


Over the next three years, Three UK and Samaritans will expand the support services, powered by Three’s network and technology, along with their own training, resource and fundraising initiatives to support the development prosperity of the nation. Details of Three UK’s specific areas of support will be revealed later this year.


This will expand the support that the Samaritans have provided to people across the country. The dedication of the Samaritans volunteers means the charity has maintained their 24/7 service since the beginning of its closure, with volunteers spending nearly a million hours listening to those in need. struggling to cope during the pandemic.
